Grameen Bank

Dr.Muhammad Yunus founded Grameen Bank to help the poor villagers in doing the development works. The aim of the bank is to develop the whole country on the basis of the prosperity of the villages. The Bank helps the poor villagers giving loan on easy conditions. As it is an easy concept of developing a country, it is accepted abroad. As the poor people are the beneficiaries of Grameen Bank, it is called the bank of the poor. Those , who are very poor, are eligible for getting loan. To get loan from Grameen Bank first five or six groups must be formed.  Each group consists of five members. But the members must be helpless, landless and women. Through co-operative systems, it performs its banking activities. The functions of the centre chairperson are to lead and direct the groups. She is responsible for disciplinary activities. The present condition of  Grameen Bank activities in Bangladesh is very satisfactory. This bank gives self-reliance to the poor people. It is a praising step o develop the country through developing the village.
