Pollution means the contamination of air, water and sound etc. Many unwise people are responsible for it. They do not know or follow the rules and regulations of keeping our environment free from pollution. Environment pollution can be classified in many ways. They are air pollution, water pollution and sound pollution. Air is an important element of our environment that is polluted by smoke of mills, factories, and motor vehicles. Besides, a huge amount of smoke is emitted for cooking food, burning bricks and refuse. Water is polluted by human waste, industrial waste, chemicals and poisonous things. Sound pollution is caused by vehicles horns and microphones. Thus, our environment is being polluted. There are many serious effects of environmental pollution. It causes unexpected death of people and animals. We suffer from various fatal diseases due to environmental pollution. Environmental pollution causes changes in the climate of the world. As a result, we have to face different kinds of natural disasters. So, proper steps should be taken to prevent it. We should be kind to animals and plants. Actions must be taken against indiscriminate use of chemicals. Awareness must be raised among the common people about the destructive effects of environmental pollution. The mass media can play a vital role in this regard.
